History:

fire

Prospect Park Fire Company No. 1 was organized on March 13, 1895. By the end of May 1895, a fire engine and hook and ladder had been ordered, and a decision was made to install fireplugs in the Borough.

By mid-June 1895, 700 feet of hose with couplings had been purchased for 43 cents a foot. As part of the fire company’s fund raising, 10 children were going door-to-door for contributions.

Current Day Fire Department

The current Fire Department, headed by Fire Chief Michael Signora and Fire Marshall James Simmonds, consists of approximately 35 active volunteers, and 150 inactive volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering, feel free to stop by the firehouse.
